“You can caress [a guitar] like a woman,” says Jimmy Page in the opening of It Might Get Loud, a new documentary by Davis Guggenheim that invites electric-guitar virtuosos Page, U2’s The Edge, and Jack White to meet on an L.A. soundstage, tell their guitar stories, and do a little impromptu jamming. In theaters now, it’s the kind of gripping music doc that could inspire girls and boys everywhere to ditch Guitar Hero for a real Stratocaster. And yet, as good as it is, we couldn’t help but think, Why no female guitarist in the bunch? Could be that since the electric guitar’s popularity blossomed in the mid-twentieth century, collective wisdom has suggested that great female guitarists simply don’t exist. Take Rolling Stone’s 2003 list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. Only two women, Joni Mitchell and Joan Jett, were honored.”
In the wake of the earthquake in Haiti, all initial attention — naturally — focused on immediate relief. Search parties to dig people out of the rubble, and relief workers to set up access to medical treatment, food, water and shelter. But the real process of recovery, which comes next, has far greater implications for a nation’s future health and development. That’s why it’s great to see technology groups that were some of the earliest and most creative responders to Haiti’s initial crisis are now shifting gears to focus on recovery, as well. Samasource, for example, offers a platform that allows refugees and the impoverished around the world the chance to earn a living by completing digital microtasks for companies — tasks such as data entry, proofreading and more. Since Ushahidi (another group whose Haiti response we’ve described) worked with partners to set up a free SMS exchange that allowed people on the ground to report emergencies, Samasource has also started a…
You can make regeneration by useing the motor-Batry wires and putting them threw rectifier back to battery. Its that easy man.
A complex array of sensors, wires and computer chips now control just about every critical function in your car, including acceleration, braking, shifting gears and even the door locks. Toyota says it can’t find evidence that electronics are the root of its unintended acceleration problems, and it cites backup systems that would prevent trouble. But history shows that electronics are …

I learned to go by MPH actually. It depends on if it's a 4 speed or 5 speed. 4 speed, shift about 25-30 MPH into 2nd, 35-45 into 3rd, and 55+ into 4th. If you're using a tach, and simply driving, shift at about 2500-3000 RPM. If racing, shift about 6400 RPM. It it's a 5 speed, shift 18-22 into 2nd, 30-35 into 3rd, 43-50 into 4th, and 55+ into 5th. A tach isn't hard to install, you can purchase one which lables the wires. Attach "Distributor" labled wires to starter coil, "ground" to a negative source, which you can find by using a test light attached to a known positive power source (positive battery terminal), and testing things like screws, bolts, etc., and use a fork crimp-on to install on screw. Do the same for a "power", you can connect it to the positive battery terminal, and connect the "light" wire to a dash light source. Attach test light to known ground source, and test wires under dash to splice, but make sure it doesn't draw power away from dash lights. They must share, not steal, hook it up with a wire that is affected by the dimmer switch, so that everything works together on the same page. Max safe RPM is roughly 7000 RPM, but I never reached it, best racing shift point is roughly 6200-6800 RPM.
A wise man once told me about his discovery of the “Five Stages of Employment”, which are a bit like the traditional “stages of grief”; i.e. how one comes to accept an imperfect situation with varying stages of grace. The stages of employment are: idealism, reality, anger, depression and hilarity. When one begins a new employment adventure, one hopefully starts out with a certain level of idealism – thinking everything is going to be better, that they’ll do great things and they’ll receive ample support from co-workers as well as management. Reality comes shortly after – every job has its hurdles and bureaucracy. After realising this, when you think there might still be a way to fix these flaws, you get angry. When you realize some of these flaws are unfixable, depression sets in. After a while, you stop being so wrapped up in the flaws and can get enough perspective or emotional distance to laugh at these problems. In the next few months, we’ll look at the top five suggestions for…
